I was working on the renal unit at St Marys when I first learned of Dick Bishop and then as I progressed into management in the 90s he came very much into view. I served as one of his team for many years, often sat at the Board table sharing a roll up.....always lots of banter and great humour. Pregnant with my first baby- Dick was always checking up on the bump and making sure all was well- and I am sure my son recognised his voice when born!
He was the best role model as I progressed and I often refer to him even now - human, honest, non judgmental, compassionate, always took time for everyone and stood by his team. Portsmouth was never the same without him, and the world is a lesser place now he has moved on.
Much love to his family, friends and colleagues
